MVR Wastewater Evaporator: Energy-saving Principles of Mechanical Vapor Recompression

2026 06/02

The MVR wastewater evaporator relies on mechanical vapor recompression technology, achieving high-efficiency evaporation through thermal energy closed-loop circulation, with the core function of upgrading low-grade steam into a usable heat source.
The wastewater is preheated and enters the evaporator, where it boils at a low temperature under vacuum conditions, generating low-temperature, low-pressure secondary steam. This steam is captured by the steam compressor, which raises its temperature and pressure through mechanical work, converting it into high-grade heating steam. The steam is then returned to the heating chamber to supply heat to the wastewater, condensing into clean water after releasing latent heat.
The system requires only a small amount of live steam during startup, with normal operation driven by electrical energy for compression, recycling the latent heat of steam to significantly reduce energy consumption. The entire process achieves a closed loop of evaporation—compression—heating—condensation, efficiently concentrating wastewater and separating salt while recovering condensate, meeting the energy-saving and resource recovery requirements of industrial wastewater treatment.
